Applications are invited for a 36-month DTA3/COFUND Marie Skłodowska-Curie PhD Fellowship in my lab to work on a project entitled “Now where was I? The changing role of the prefrontal and motor cortices as a function of healthy ageing.”
The project will combine behavioural and neurophysiological protocols to investigate key areas of the cortical network that underlie complex oculo-manual pursuit in young and elderly neurotypical adults. The successful applicant will join Professor Simon Bennett’s lab in the Research Institute for Sport and Exercise Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University. The research group comprise a small team of six staff, two post-docs and five PhD students who study human motor behaviour from the neural level through to perception and cognition. We have several dedicated research laboratories that are equipped with specialist devices for online motion analysis (Vicon; Qualisys; NDI), high resolution eye movement registration (Chronos Vision CETD; EyeLink 1000; Tobii Pro), visual stimulus presentation at high spatial and temporal resolution (ViewPixx EEG; Barco Graphics; CRS ViSaGe), neuromodulation (Magstim Bistim; neuroConn DC-STIMULATOR PLUS) and neuroimaging (Brainsight NIRS; actiCHamp EEG).
