Open position: RESEARCH ENGINEER – ANDROID JAVA DEVELOPER
Description
As a “RESEARCH ENGINEER”, the successful candidate will work on the development of a mobile application aiming at improving the Parkinsonian patients walking kinematics, and helping runners to adopt the approapriate stride technique, as part of a maturation program conducted in EuroMov laboratory and supported by the SATT AxLR.
In particular, she/he will be in charge of:
the Identification of the compatible hardware (Android platform) with the existing Bluetooth application and sensors, and future developments of the application and use cases
the update of the current libraries to ensure their compatibility with current an future versions of Android
the implementation on the identified hardware target (s) of the updated application Calibration of the different sources of latency and checking of the capabilities of the available Bluetooth protocol to ensure a stable connection in real conditions
the evaluation of the performances of a first prototype
the follow up of prototype tests and subsequent modifications
the general technical coordination of the project, under the authority of the project manager and the integration of developments in compliance with the specifications and the roadmap
drafting patents and documents necessary for intellectual protection (internal or external);
writing the technical documentation related to functional specifications, testing…
writing activity reports (at least monthly) and keeping up to date the laboratory notebook which will be assigned to him
the coordination between the various project partners and suppliers
the security of the project, including the backup of computer data
The employee will be under the supervision of the project leader and the project manager. The workplace is the EuroMov laboratory (700 avenue Pic Saint Loup, Montpellier), located in the north of Montpellier, in a dense nexus of research centres, hospitals and academic institutions (www.euromov.eu).
Requirements
Android developer / Java application developer with 3 to 5 years of experience:
Android / Java applications development
Electronics, connected sensors (Bluetooth)
Signal processing, especially Android audio
Autonomy
English
Desired skills:
Writing technical documentation
Knowledge in big data and cloud infrastructure will be appreciated
ability to work in a multidisciplinary professional environment

Conditions
The position is available for a period of 10 months.
The gross annual base salary for this full-time position will be € 32,000
The position corresponds to the status of Research Engineer (IATS 514)
Starting date: ASAP.
